Having had only a few lessons in tole painting, she jumped at the chance to take Bauernmalerei (Bavarian Folk Art) painting lessons from Mary Caballero. While living in Germany, Scottie became fascinated with the beautiful painted items found in museums and shops in Bavaria. Bill paints in oils, acrylic and watercolor and travels across the country teaching the techniques he has learned. Louis Mo and many of Bill’s compositions are inspired by the beautiful countryside surrounding their home. Ridley was also his grandfather’s name and Bill signs his paintings in “Paps” honor. Bill uses his middle name “Ridley” as his signature. Bill has published five instructional books and three DVD's titled "Down Roads. He has since studied with many other well know artists developing his own style of painting. The following year he studied with Bob Ross and became a certified instructor of Bob’s wet on wet technique. A Certified Decorative Artist, she has been associated with Deco Art for 14 years!īill “Ridley” Bayer began painting as a hobby in 1988. With more than 40 books and two dozen videos to her credit, Sandy has taught decorative painting in 21 countries. She specializes in teaching the beginner. Sandy Aubuchon has been a decorative painting teacher for 32 years. She has also developed a line of Pattern Packets. She has shared her designs in the Artist's Journal, The Decorative Painter, and Craft Paint of Japan. Heidi has four books on the subject of Folk Art. She has taught in America, Canada, Australia, France, and Japan. Travel teaching and teaching for the National Society of Decorative Painters gives Heidi a chance to share her love of painting with people from all over our beautiful country as well as the world. Heidi has also studied in Germany and at Vesterheim in Decorah Iowa. This was 25 years ago! Jo has been my teacher ever since. Heidi relates, "It was here that Jo Sonja introduced Folk Art into my life - and I fell in love with the art form and its history. It was later she met and studied with Jo Sonja Jansen in Conroe Texas. Her early training took place at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Heidi England literally had a hobby turn into a career. Linda teaches workshops for chapters as well as regional and national conventions all over the country. Linda loves to teach and believes anyone can learn to paint if there is a desire to learn and practice. Linda is a DecoArt Helping Artist and an Association for the Craft Industries (AFCI) Designer member. She is a member of Silver State Tole and Decorative Painters in Las Vegas and Northern California Decorative Artists in Castro Valley, California where she has served as President and Treasurer.
She has passed the Master Stroke in 2010 and Master Floral 2014 as she continues to study and work towards achieving her goal of becoming Master Decorative Artist.
She earned her Certified Decorative Artist in 2007. She is an active member of the Society of Decorative Painters and has served two terms as a Board Member at Large, one term as Recording Secretary and is currently serving as Vice President-President Elect. Designing and creating art work using traditional folk art techniques coupled with her love of flowers provides inspiration as she paints stroke work with a contemporary flair.
